This course will improve your knowledge of infection control so that you’re able to prevent it in your workplace.

This one hour course gives an increased understanding of the causes of infections and the impact that these can have, particularly on vulnerable people. We will think about the conditions which infections need to spread and the best way to prevent this from happening. The session will be delivered by one of our experienced trainers, who will be able to advise you on the best action to take if you do come across an infection. Our course also covers effective methods of cleaning and waste disposal that will help to prevent the spread of infection. We will look at personal protective equipment that can be used for your own safety, as well as thinking about the laws and company guidelines that are in place to protect staff, patients and visitors.
To give student’s an understanding of the risks of infection and how this can be controlled.
Students will have an understanding of:
- Identify common diseases and the threats they pose
- Describe the chain of infection
- Adhere to standard infection control procedures
- Deal with spills correctly
- Outline roles and responsibilities in preventing infection
- Correctly manage waste
