Blended Full Level 3 Accredited Paediatric First Aid
Designed for people who work with children to ensure they can act safely and effectively in an emergency. One day course (9:30 – 4:30).
A 12-hour course – covering all areas of content. The interactive E-Learning Module, which is the first element of the training can be accessed from home or the office or on a mobile. The second part is a very practical day spent with a Qualified First Aid Trainers at our training centre at Leyland. This course is suitable for anyone working with children from birth to 8 years and essential for those working within Early Years and meets the full Ofsted/EYFS guidelines.
Paediatric First Aid – Blended
Course Location: Centaur Training Services (North West LTD) Course Details: Our blended paediatric course is an excellent alternative for those who are unable to attend a conventional full two-day classroom course. This course meets all the requirements of OFSTED and the Department for Education and Skills (DFES). To complete this course, you will be registered for the online segment of the course where you will watch a series of videos at your leisure and complete an online multiple choice assessment. Once you have completed and passed this portion of the course you will then undergo the practical stage of the course (6 hours) which is held in a classroom setting. When you have successfully completed both the online and classroom modules, you will then be issued with your certificate which is valid for three years.
This course is required and suitable for Child-minders, School nurse, Nannies, Au Pairs, Nursery workers, Teachers, Pre-School and After-School Club Staff.
Course Aims
To provide the delegates the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide First Aid to children and babies.

The role of a First Aider in childcare Primary Survey Recovery Position CPR – Child and Baby Medical conditions Anaphylaxis and the use of an Epi-Pen Head injuries and their management Bleeding management Burns and their effective management Choking procedures – Child and Baby Dealing with minor injuries Meningitis and its effect Poisons and stings * Please note that a conventional 2 day classroom based paediatric course can also be arranged upon request. Course Duration: Online session plus one-day classroom session. Assessment Criteria: Online assessment plus continual practical classroom assessment. Certificate Gained: Paediatric First Aid – 12 Hours Certificate Duration: 3 Years (Annual refresher recommended)
