The Manual Handling in Childcare course gives an increased knowledge and understanding of the reasons for safe manual handling procedures, regulations and legislation. The course also covers the need for manual handling risk assessments and how they relate to improving health & safety.
The programme includes information on the anatomy and physiology of the spine and manual handling principles. The course also goes into detail about the causes of back injury and related illness, hazard perception and how to reduce the risk of injury.
